The Bistro Spotlight is an editorial food publication. These terms describe what you can do with the writing and photography we publish, and what you can expect from us in return. Last updated .
Who we are
"The Bistro Spotlight" ("we," "us," "our") is the editorial publication at bistrospotlight.com. When we refer to the "Site," we mean this publication and everything on it.
Our editorial content
The writing — restaurant profiles, story sections, headlines, taglines, summaries — is our original editorial work. We hold the copyright. You're welcome to read it, share individual spotlights via links, and quote briefly with attribution ("as featured in The Bistro Spotlight"). You may not republish full spotlights, use our writing to train machine-learning models, or represent our editorial voice as your own.
Restaurants featured on The Bistro Spotlight are welcome to link to their spotlight from their own website, social media, and press materials.
Photography
Every photograph on The Bistro Spotlight is either (a) licensed from a stock provider under the Unsplash, Pexels, or Creative Commons license, (b) shared from Wikimedia Commons under CC BY or CC BY-SA, or (c) provided by the restaurant via a public assets endpoint. Photographers are credited on the individual spotlight pages and on our photo credits page.
If you are a photographer whose work appears here and you would like the attribution adjusted or the image removed, please reach out and we will fix it the same day. If you are a restaurant featured here who would like to provide your own photography to replace stock imagery, we welcome the swap.
Accuracy and change
We do our best to publish accurate information — owner names, addresses, hours, signature dishes, quotes, and the story behind the room. All owner names and quotes are cited to a source in our internal records. If you spot an error, tell us and we will correct it.
Restaurants change. Hours shift, chefs move on, rooms close for renovation. Before you visit, please confirm details on the restaurant's own website or by calling.
Links to other sites
Every spotlight links to the featured restaurant's own website, Instagram, and Google Maps location. We are not responsible for the content, hours, policies, or reservation systems on those third-party sites.
What we don't do
- We do not host user accounts, comments, or user-submitted content.
- We do not sell products or take reservations directly.
- We do not accept payment for editorial coverage. Restaurants featured on The Bistro Spotlight are chosen by our editorial team.
- We do not sell, rent, or share reader data with third parties. See our Privacy Policy.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the publication grows — a new section, a new medium, a clearer sentence. Material changes will be dated at the top of this page. Continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the updated terms.
